Focus and Scope
FAHMUNA: Journal of Da'wah and Communication is a scientific publication that aims to facilitate praxis-theoretical discussions and academic studies on a number of research in the field of Da'wah and Communication using a double-blind peer review system. Published by the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, Institut Agama Islam Nahdlatul Ulama Bangil, Pasuruan, East Java, Indonesia, in collaboration with the Indonesian Association of Da'wah Management Experts (PAMDI) and APDI (Indonesian Association of Da'wah Professionals).
FAHMUNA is open to researchers, practitioners, academics, and students who are interested in contributing the results of discussions of ideas and thoughts, especially in the fields of Da'wah and Communication. The main focus of the FAHMUNA journal is the theoretical and practical exploration of the dynamics of da'wah in Islamic preaching, the study of communication science, and the development of contemporary media in the local, national and global scope, with a multidisciplinary perspective.
Sub-themes and scope in FAHMUNA scientific publications include:
1. Da'wah and Islamic preaching:
a. Studies in the science of da'wah or Islamic da'wah, such as the history of da'wah, the philosophy of da'wah, and da'wah methodology, including religious, socio-cultural, economic, and political studies.
b. Management of da'wah and innovations in it, starting from the preparation of Islamic da'wah plans and strategies, Islamic global tourism, and management of Islamic da'wah and religious tourism.
c. Da'wah and community development, especially in social and psychological analysis, Islamic counseling, Islamic psychotherapy, and the relationship between da'wah and socio-cultural studies and other local wisdom.
2. Communication science:
a. Exploration of communication science in general, starting from communication theory, approaches in communication, interpersonal communication, group communication, and organizational communication.
b. Study of political communication, including political communication strategies, political campaigns, political marketing, government, public policy, and political parties.
c. Communication development, such as communication planning, communication and millennial and contemporary issues, and communication management.
d. The relevance of communication science in psychological and socio-cultural studies, including the fields of communication sociology, communication psychology, communication and local wisdom, and intercultural communication.
e. Discourse and media studies, including the scope of journalism, mass communication, mass media management, media content analysis, and new media studies.
f. Public Relations (PR), consisting of human relations, corporate social responsibility (CSR), media relations, public affairs, marketing communication, and advertising.
